Wow, so I MEANT to update ya'll in October, but here we are at the end of November...

RANDOM UPDATES:

Firstly, I'm MAJOR GROWN now!Yup, my 21st birthday was October 3. I hosted a house party, a night on the town and a beach blast/pool party. Of course, there was some drama that downsized some of the events, but overall, it was a good time.

November 19 (Thur.) - I went to see BET comedian, host and actor Kevin Hart. For only $5 (student discount), I got to see one of my fav funny guys at The Venue at UCF (my university: Go Knights!).

I'm a first-semester senior this year in my Advertising/Public Relations major. By next Spring, I should graduate. Not that I want to...I mean, I have no problems being a permanent student, but there are laws against that here...Besides, tuition increased 15% at UCF, which is now the 3rd largest university in the United States. We're movin' on up....lol

PR PUBLICATIONS: I'm LOVIN' this course, which is TOTALLY easy for me because I already know my way around the Adobe Creative Suite. I've been using my creative skills to make ads, logos, stationary packages, direct mail packages and so on.I'm not utilizing Photoshop as much as Illustrator and InDesign. Everything I've created for my PR course is on my Artwork album on Facebook. I don't think it's quite ready for DA, but what do YOU think?

But I still miss messing around with my anime art...

MASS COMMUNICATION LAW: I'm learning a lot, especially about copyright, sunshine laws, shield laws and the first amendment's application to all areas of media, corporations, advertisements, politics, etc. For example, Walt Disney's earlier films (maybe even the older Mickey Mouse) may enter the public domain in a few years. Why? Because of the following copyright law: Copyright only lasts 70 years after a person's death; For an organization, the copyright lasts 120 years after first use.

AD COPYWRITING: Jeez, because of this class, I'm viewing everything in advertising terms. I was only casually aware of slogan changes and ads before; now, I'm noticing little logo/slogan tricks (substitute "&" with "7"), branding techniques, creative strategies, etc....It's creative geeking to another level!

CRUNCH-TIME: I'm got EXAMS and PROJECTS due. Brand books, Publication designs and group work....

So... I'm no longer a Librarian (but I always will be in my heart! In fact, I'm keeping my ears open for any library services jobs). In September, my city library was taken over by the county. As a result, all PT staff (that would include EVERY library worker throughout the county except for Head Librarians) were released in September. Luckily, I scored a job at Payless (in less than 10 min too!) in Oviedo and was managing two jobs until the end of September. Now, I'm strictly Payless. Sure, my boss advanced my duties and tasks really quick and lets me maintain a flexible schedule, but my current salary is WAY less than what I'm used to making. So I'm in the market for a better paying job. Preferably something within my Ad/PR major/field. It's just a bad time to be job hunting right now...especially when employers prefer interns for my major...

ROOMIES: So yeah, there's drama. When is there never? Good news tho: We're gonna finally get new carpets! The "cleaned" ones were just not cutting it.

Now if only my neighbors upstairs will stop sexin' at all hours of the night and morning. Why does their bed sound like ass rubbing on a tub?!

So I went to see Micheal Jackson's This Is It movie a couple weeks ago... Wow, it had been a LONG time since I've been to the movies. All the previews and movies slated to come out are of BOOKS!

There's even a movie coming out based on one of Roald Dahl's obscure books.

(And HELL NO, I don't watch/read the Twilight series. I'm a HP, Artemis Fowl and Perseus Jackson fan - and will always be!)

If you think I'm skimpy here, then you've NO idea how I saturate the field on FACEBOOK. Due to my major, I have to be connected. So I now maintain a TWITTER account (even tho I hate the concept of guiding stupid sheep) in addition to a FACEBOOK account and a LINKEDIN account. When it comes to Twitter, I feel like such a sell-out...
